What a death doula does

A death doula, also known as an end-of-life doula, is a non-medical professional who provides emotional, spiritual, and practical support to individuals and their loved ones during the dying process. They help create a peaceful, personalized end-of-life experience by offering companionship, helping with legacy projects, assisting with advance care planning, and guiding families through the emotional and logistical aspects of death.

twilight

  • Twilight is the period of time following the recently-diagnosed period. You’re no longer in shock or new to the idea of death, but also not quite sure what the “end of the end” looks like. We can help by refining existing processes, integrating living grief therapy as desired, and finalizing documents and projects requiring your loved one’s presence and input.

  • Initial Consult (90 min): $200

    Follow up: $125/hr

dawn

  • Dawn represents the final stages of death, followed by the dawn of new life beyond. Support typically includes implementing death experience plans to create a supportive, calm and comforting environment for our loved one to transition into the hereafter. Practices like sitting vigil/bedside provide needed respite and support. This stage also brings new life, as the circle of support transitions from caregivers of your loved one to caregivers of each other. Amplified grief support, mourning practices and continued memorialization are set forth.

  • Initial Consult (90 min): $300

    Follow up: $150/hr
